Copyright and Open-access
Open access policy
All articles published in the HPU2 Journal of Science: Natural Sciences and Technology (HPU2. Nat. Sci. Tech) are made immediately available worldwide under an open access license. This means:
- Everyone has free and unlimited access to the full text of all articles published in HPU2. Nat. Sci. Tech journal;
- Everyone is free to re-use the published articles in accordance with the license noted in the articles if proper citation of the original publication is given;
- Open access publication is currently supported by Hanoi Pedagogical University 2. Authors, authors' institutes, or research funding agencies do not need to pay for the Article Processing Charge (APC).
Advantages of open access policy for authors:
- High Visibility and High Availability are guaranteed because the paper is freely and unlimitedly accessed over the internet without any restrictions. Other researchers and readers can freely access and download the full text of all articles without any payment for subscription or viewing charge. The paper is also more easily searchable by search engines and indexing databases.
- The Higher Citation Impact of open access papers results from their high publicity and availability.
- No article processing charge (APC) is applied for accepted articles.
License
A Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license is applied for all articles published in volume 1 and volume 2 of HPU2 Journal of Science: Natural Sciences and Technology (HPU2. Nat. Sci. Tech). It means that everyone can copy and distribute the full text of all articles published in volume 1 and volume 2 in any medium or format in unmodified form and for noncommercial purposes.
Since issue 1, volume 3 (April 2024) a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license is applied. This license allows anyone to copy and redistribute the articles published in the journal in any medium or format for noncommercial purposes. Everyone is also free to remix, adapt, transform, and build upon the articles published in the journal for noncommercial purposes. All articles published in HPU2. Nat. Sci. Tech, including tables, figures, and supplemental data can be linked from external sources, inspected by search engines, re-used by websites, blogs, etc. at no charge for noncommercial purposes under the sole condition of proper citation of the source and original publisher.
Notes for corresponding authors
If manuscripts, especially Reviews, contain figures, tables, etc. built upon other publications, for which HPU2. Nat. Sci. Tech does not hold the copyright or the right to re-license the materials in accordance with the CC BY-NC 4.0 license, the corresponding authors have to inquire with the original copyright holder whether or not the material can be re-used.
When submitting a manuscript to HPU2. Nat. Sci. Tech the corresponding authors must certify that:
- I am authorized by my co-authors to enter these arrangements.
- I warrant, on behalf of myself and my co-authors, that:
- The article is original work, has not been published in any journals, is not under consideration by any other journals, and does not infringe any existing copyright or any other third-party rights;
- I am/we are the sole author(s) of the article and have full authority to grant rights to Nat. Sci. Tech to publish our work as original publisher;
- The article contains nothing unlawful, defamatory, or able to breach of contract or secrecy commitment.
- I, and all co-authors, agree that the article, if accepted for publication in HPU2. Nat. Sci. Tech shall be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
Copyright
Copyright on articles published in HPU2. Nat. Sci. Tech is retained by the respective author(s), without restriction. When the authors submit their article to HPU2. Nat. Sci. Tech the authors agree to all the terms and conditions based on that the journal publishes their research work and identifies itself as its original publisher, along with the commercial right to include the article in a hardcopy issue for sale to libraries and individuals.
